CSA Standards

An inspection by a qualified inspector must occur once a year in order to meet the requirements of CSA. Our inspectors are up-to-date on all the current CSA Standards and local and federal regulations pertaining to fall protection, including:

Canada - Federal Jurisdiction

• Canada Labour Code - Part II, Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Part XII Section 12.3: "All protection equipment provided by the employers shall be maintained, inspected and tested by a qualified person; and..."

Province of New Brunswick

• Employee shall use an Individual Fall Arrest System with a fall distance of <= 1.2 m and anchor strength of >=17.8 kN. The equipment should be removed from service if subjected to fall and inspected by competent person.

Province of Newfoundland and Labrador

• Fall Protection Regulations CNR 1165/96. Safety Belts and Lifelines 104/79 s32 60: (14) Belts, straps, harnesses…shall (a) be carefully inspected before use; (15) If an impairment of function is detected, the defective part shall be removed from service.

Province of Nova Scotia

• Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia. 1989, Chapter 320, Fall Arrest Systems: (5) Each component of a fall arrest system...shall be inspected by a competent person; (6) A fall arrest system that has arrested a fall shall be removed from service and inspected by a competent person.

Province of Ontario

• O.Reg. 145/00, Section 26.4 (3): The travel restraint system shall be inspected by a competent worker before each use; 26.4 (4) If a component of the travel restraint system is found to be defective on inspection...
